CABB’s MCA production site in China receives first ISO certification
Successful quality and environmental management audit by TÜV Süd
Sulzbach (Taunus), GERMANY, December 6, 2017 – In mid-October, the CABB Group’s production site in Jining, China, was successfully certified by TÜV Süd in line with the latest ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 standards.
The Jining site’s integrated management system now officially meets the strict quality and environmental requirements of the International Organization for Standardization. The new production site, which went online in 2016, is able to manufacture high-purity monochloroacetic acid (MCA).
CABB sees this certification as an important step in implementing its global growth strategy, according to Carsten Wörner, head of the Acetyls Business Unit. A globally active specialist in high-purity MCA, CABB is pursuing above-average growth in Asia, especially in China. In addition to growing its Chinese customer base, CABB also wants to be able to provide globally active customers with a local Asian supply.
“Global players expect comparable quality and environmental standards from their suppliers across markets,” Wörner explains. “The certification of the Jining plant means we can offer products and services in Asia at standards equivalent to those in our customers’ home markets, while offering the benefits of local production at the same time.”
Peter Vanacker, CEO of the CABB Group, adds: “Quality and environmental management are top priorities in our company. Now that our Chinese site has passed its audit, all of our sites around the world are ISO-certified.”
