CABB supplies the entire range of high quality MCA products as molten, aqueous solutions, ethanolic solutions, solids as well as the Sodium salt (SMCA)

Besides the standard packing which offers the most economic value, we do offer a wide range of customized solutions.

Transportation of MCA and SMCA can be arranged by rail, road or sea.

Key applications for MCA and SMCA are:

  • Hydrocolloids such as Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), Carboxymethyl starch or Carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl guar (CMHPG)
  • Crop protection as 2,4 dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) and 2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid (MCPA)
  • Surfactantas as Cocoamidopropyl-Betaine
  • Thioglycolic acid / -esters (TGA) for hair cosmetics or thermo stabilizers for PVC
  • Feed additives

Ethyl Monochloroacetate is a derivative of Monochloroacetic Acid (MCA).

The production of EMCA, backward integrated into our in-house production of Monochloroacetic Acid (MCA), is a continuous process in a dedicated manufacturing unit in Gersthofen (Germany), leading to a product that has redefined the quality standard for the market.

It is employed in the preparation of pharmaceutical products such as Piracetam or contrast agents. As a solvent for organic synthesis and as an intermediate in the production of agrochemicals or fragrances and artificial flavours.

Other important reactions with Ethyl Monochloroacetate include condensation with urea derivatives, carbonylation to form malonic acid esters and amidation involving various amines.

Ethyl Monochloroacetate (EMCA) is available in tank containers as well as in drums of 235 kg and IBC of 1150 kg.

The “AHA” effect of Glycolic Acid

Glycolic Acid is one of the most effective Alpha-Hydroxyacetic Acids (AHA). In fact the smallest AHA molecule in size, it is readily biodegradable, Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) exempt, non-flammable and safe to handle. Due to its versatile applicability it is used in many different industries. CABB produces Glycolic Acid based on Monochloroacetic Acid in a dedicated plant in Gersthofen (Germany) and is the only producer in Europe. With more than 50 years of experience in the production of Glycolic Acid CABB offers the highest level of quality and safety standards. Our synthesis route avoids the presence of Methoxyacetic Acid and is therefore clearly your best choice.

Glytech™ Basic:

Technical grade of Glycolic Acid comes as aqueous solution either in 57% or 70% concentration. They are both used for household, institutional and industrial cleaners as they are effective at dissolving Casein and the formed salts are better soluble than e.g. Phosphates.

It is an outstanding alternative through its ability to simultaneously clean and disinfect.

Being added to antiscalant or concrete remover formulations Glycolic Acid can help to significantly decrease process downtime.

During the manufacturing of phenolic resins, Glytech™ Basic is a mild organic acid allowing the resins to cure more slowly.

Glytech™ Basic is available in drums of 250 kg and IBC of 1250 kg.

Glycos™ Clear:

Glycos™ Clear is our premium grade AHA and one of the most popular ingredients for anti-aging products such as chemical peelings.

Its excellent capability to penetrate the top layer of skin promotes the natural cell-loss process and improves turnover rate of skin cells.

By weakening the lipid bonds that hold dead skin cells together Glycolic Acid may help to reveal the underlying skin, giving you a healthier and younger look and feel.

Glycos™ Clear 70% is available in drums of 25 kg, 70 kg and 250 kg.

Methyl Monochloroacetate is a derivative of Monochloroacetic Acid (MCA).

The production of MMCA, backward integrated into our in-house production of Monochloroacetic Acid (MCA), is a continuous process in a dedicated manufacturing unit in Gersthofen (Germany), leading to a product that has redefined the quality standard for the market.

Because of its higher reactivity compared with the free acid, Methyl Monochloroacetate is a valuable intermediate in organic synthesis.It is employed in the preparation of pharmaceutical products such as Piroxicam or Piracetam.

As a solvent for organic synthesis and as an intermediate in the production of agrochemicals (dimethoates) or fragrances and artificial flavours.

Methyl Monochloroacetate (MMCA) is available in rail tank cars, tank containers and drums of 250 kg.

Trichloroacetic Acid is a chlorinated organic chemical compound from the group of carboxylic acids.

It is a nearly colourless up to slightly yellowish hygroscopic crystalline mass, produced in a fully dedicated plant in Gersthofen (Germany). The production of TCA is backward integrated into our in-house production of Monochloroacetic Acid (MCA) and Chlorine, and the product is marketed as flakes or aqueous solution.

Trichloroacetic Acid can be widely used in the field of surface treatment such as metal etching or matt finishing for PE films. In the latter application TCA treatment can increase the wettability of the film, assuring an exceptional anchorage of aqueous-base adhesive masses, lacquers or inks.

It is a starting molecule for many different subsequent reactions such as Ethyl Trichloroacetate (ETCA), Methyl Trichloroacetate (MTCA), Sodium Trichloroacetate (STCA) and Trichloroacetamide (TCAM) and an intermediate in pharmaceuticals such as Carbamazepine.

In the sequencing of nucleotides, de-block solutions with TCA are an important building block for the detritylation process for mainly short-chained oligonucleotides.

Trichloroacetic Acid Flakes are available in drums of 50 kg and we offer a technical grade of minimum 98% and a pharmaceutical grade of minimum 99% assay.

Trichloroacetic Acid 90% aqueous solution is available in IBC of 1400 kg.
